EASTER YELLOW

EASTER YELLOW

The start of new beginnings - (and boy do we all need a bit of that!) with the sun giving us the odd cheery day and jolly yellow primroses raising their little smiley heads upwards.                                          The wild natural ones are by far the softest and seem to generate a simple joyous air whether peeping up through your lawn or along verges. They are an absolute delight when you fall across great swathes of them through woodland on country walks. According to...

MOTHERING SUNDAY PRIZE DRAW

MOTHERING SUNDAY PRIZE DRAW

MOTHERING SUNDAY PRIZE DRAW Mothering Sunday is a day honouring mothers and has been celebrated in the British Isles and elsewhere in the English-speaking world on the fourth Sunday in Lent since the Middle Ages. Whether working from home, zoom meetings, working out, home schooling, doing the house work, gardening, exercising, or just chilling, it is the one apparel category which is seeing a rise in demand amid the COVID-19 pandemic. It seems to be one of the few things which seems to be a benefit of lockdown - comfortable...

WINTER WHITES

WINTER WHITES

As winter crawls slowly towards Spring - we await the first peep of winter white promise from the beautiful Snowdrop (The Greek name Galanthus - translates to ‘Milk Flower’). We are delighted to say that we found our first one pushing though on the way up to May Hill on todays walk. Often scented with tiny white flowers, snowdrops appear when there are few other flowers in bloom. They never fail to lift the spirits during the dull days of winter. Being tiny  plants, they can easily be grown in the smallest of gardens, making it possible to collect just...
